The AMD's new processor "Ryzen 3 3100" was launched on 21 April 2020. AMD launched it with another processor - Ryzen 3 3300X which is nothing but a upgraded or improved version of Ryzen 3 3100.
What is AMD Ryzen 3 3100?
AMD Ryzen 3 3100 is a third generation processor of AMD Ryzen series processors. It is based on Zen 2 architecture. AMD Ryzen 3 3100 processor doesn't comes with an integrated graphics. It's performance is similar to Intel's core i3 9th generation processor - Intel 9100F.
AMD Ryzen 3 3100 has 4 cores and 8 threads. While the Intel's 9100 f has 4 cores and 4 threads and it's price ranges nearly to $100. AMD Ryzen 3 3100 can be used with motherboards having AM4 socket which has been used by AMD since it's first generation processors. But before buying a motherboard for this processor, it needs to be checked whether the bios of the motherboard is updated to accommodate this processor.

Can AMD Ryzen 3 3100 be overclocked?
Almost all the processors of AMD are unlocked from factory and you can overclock almost every processors. But for overclocking you may need to spend few bucks more on cooling of CPU. For overclocking the Wraith Stealth cooler which come with the box might not cool the processors for much time during processor being overclocked. So we need an external air cooler or water cooler for keeping the CPU cool.

But if one wants to use it for overclocking then he should go with AMD ryzen 3 3300X as it is only $20 costlier to AMD ryzen 3 3100. So it would be better to go with AMD ryzen 3 3300X if you want more processing power or you are going to overclock the AMD ryzen 3 3100.
